Small Explorers Learning Together: Colors and Feelings
Small Explorers Learning Together is the Museum's program for children ages 1 - 5 years old and their caregiver(s). In this month's class, children will learn how to use sight to find colors in works of art. They'll be introduced to how color is connected to emotions and how they can use colors to express themselves in new ways. Children will practice identifying colors and strengthen fine motor skills through activities that use the senses, specifically sight and touch. We'll read "I Don’t Draw, I Color!" The class is offered on the 2nd Saturday or the following Thursday, both at 9:30 am.

Small Explorers Story Time
Join us in Discovery Den at 10:00 am the 3rd Saturday of each month for a free story time and craft program. This month we're reading "Jake Makes a World", by Sharifa Rhodes-Pitts, illustrated by Christopher Myers. The story follows the creative adventures of the young Jacob Lawrence as he finds inspiration in the vibrant colors and characters of his community in Harlem. Story Time is designed for children ages 2-8 and their caregivers. Families are encouraged to explore the galleries on their own after the program. Pick up a Small Explorers gallery cards throughout the Museum.
